Jose Hernandez, AACC, FNP-BC

About

Jose Hernandez was born and raised in El Paso, TX. His interest in cardiology began as a Registered Nurse working in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit. He has worked as clinical staff for the baccalaureate nursing program at UTEP and as a Nurse Corp Officer in the United States Navy. He received the Civilian Award for Humanitarian Service & Civilian Service Commendation Medal for support as a Critical Care Registered Nurse during COVID-19 operations at William Beaumont Army Medical Center. Mr. Hernandez values care for the patient, the patient’s family, and ultimately the El Paso community. In his free time, he enjoys playing basketball, practicing jiu-jitsu, and playing video games.

Jose is a Board-Certified Family Nurse Practitioner and holds the designation of “AACC”, an associate of the American College of Cardiology - one of the most distinguished designations the College offers its members, honoring those with advanced training and education who have shown a commitment to the profession and the College.
